A Celebrity Culture

I came across this article in Ministry Today Magazine dealing with the reality that pastors face while ministering in our American culture which idolizes celebrities. I’m currently reading David Kinnaman’s book called UnChristian, in it Kinnaman discusses his research concerning popular culture’s view of the church.

We’ve come to a place in the America church where some of our spiritual leaders are full with “the world rises and falls on me” syndrome.

Kinnaman’s article below describes how many born-again adults actually have no idea who the national spiritual leaders are, much less see them as an influence. Are we to busy trying to be celebrities that we have no influence as God’s leaders?

Check out Kinnaman’s article here
